Optical link intended for indoor network
Hrbáčková, Petra ; Vlček, Čestmír (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
This thesis deals with the structure of the optical wireless link intended for indoor applications. Optical transmitters and optical receivers as the basic elements of optical links and their characteristics and parameters are described. The characteristics of lenses used in the transmitter and receiver are presented. The special chapter is devoted to the directional reflectance properties of surfaces. The last part of the thesis is focused on a specific proposal of the wireless optical links and its power level diagram.
Design and realization of an optical receiver module for VLC purposes.
Grygar, Josef ; Vitásek, Jan (referee) ; Dobesch, Aleš (advisor)
This work is focused on free space optical communication in visible electromagnetic spectrum known as visible light communication (VLC). Basic parameters of standard IEEE 802.15.7, advantages and disadvantages are discussed in the theoretical part of this work. Furthermore, optical link and it´s parts are described. The largest part of the work is focused on design and simulation of optical receiver for visible spectrum. Selection of component, noise and SNR calculation is discussed as well. This work also includes calculation of power energy in different parts of optical connection, PCB design of optical receiver, transmitters and power supply and output board. Behavior and parameters of electronic circuits, components and optical connection are explored, measured and compared with theoretical values.
Synchronization of measuring devices by optical fibres
Petr, Ondřej ; Šebesta, Jiří (referee) ; Dřínovský, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work was to get acquainted with the possibility of transmission of RF signals using optical cables. And design synchronization modules to transmit the reference signal, so that the source and the receiver of the signal are time-synchronized and mutually galvanically separated using optical cable. To transmit and receive optical signals through optical fiber, I chose the transmitter and receiver of the series HBR- 0400 the company Agilent Technologies.
Power Budget of the Laser Rangefinder
Kotol, Martin ; Němeček, Jiří (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
The thesis analyzes the optical laser range finders in real propagation environments. Itdescribes the various parts of optical laser range finders their properties and principles in relation to their performance balance. The paper presents the basic optical properties of lenses used in the transmitter and receiver. A separate chapter is devoted to the transit time method and factors influencing the measurement. The proportional directional reflectance analysisis a part of the thesis. In conclusion, the thesis contains the practical laboratory measurements of the relative directional reflectance of different materials and colors, and verification of the power level diagram.
Transmission system for polymer optical fiber
Kubík, Martin ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with the transmission of signals via plastic optical fibers. First part contains basic principle and parameters transmission of light beam via fiber. The most common types of plastic optical fibers are analyzed, theirs characteristic parameters and trends in the development of this type of transmission medium are listed. In the second part is designed and implemented the proper integration of the optical transmitter and receiver to transmit signals via plastic optical fiber. The advantage of the implemented circuit is its modularity, so it is possible to further easily extend the system. Laboratory task is prepared for use system in the laboratory.
Long Range Free Space Optical Links
Křivák, Petr ; Vlček, Čestmír (referee) ; Vašinek, Vladimír (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
This dissertation thesis deals with a long range free space optical links for communication over the distance of few tens of kilometers in the atmosphere. The problematic of the beam propagation and atmospheric effects influencing the beam and the quality of the communication protocol are discussed. The measuring link is also designed to study the parameters of the communication link work conditions. The measuring link consists of two heads. The transmitter head is designed to use two optical beams with laser diodes at the wavelength of the atmospheric windows 850 or 1550 nm and the overall power of hundredths of mW. The receiver head includes the Fressnel lens. For the detection of very weak signal, the avalanche photodiode is used. In the end of this work, due to the high power of the transmitting optical beam, the laser safety conditions are also discussed, including the deduced optical transmitters construction recommendations.

Teaching aids for fibre optics, optical communication and optoelectronics
Hrbáčková, Petra ; Křivák, Petr (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
This thesis presents basic characteristics of the optical detectors, transmitters and optical plastic fibres. The basic optoelectronic transfer, principle of transmission, information transfer by the plastic fibre and principle of receiving are described. The practical aspect of the thesis serves as a basic illustration of the logic analogue signal transfer through the fibers by optoelectronics methods.
